Lupe Gajardo 2021.2

Lupe Gajardo 2021.2
This collection integrates Lupe's iconic handmade pieces, and for the first time she includes a series of limited pieces of industrial reproduction.
The Spring/Summer - with many season-less pieces - collection, is filled with delicate craftsmanship coupled with the evolution of Lupe's self developed Zero-Waste pattern technique, leading to simple yet complex silhouettes, created all without residues.

Inspired by the Dada movement, the local scarcity as a resource for expression and identity, the origami technique as a tool to create zero waste patterns, the exploration of experimental patterning, the use of scraps as sources of material and, collage techniques taken to textiles, results in highly complex pieces, saturated in information and textures, with a contemporary-futuristic look.

The focus on sustainable creations intensifies, by adding to our residue-free manufacturing process, the use of noble materials with long lifespan, scraps, and recycled textiles.
Cotton, alpaca, linen, silk and wool are the primary materials used in this collection. A mix of different materials, fantasies, lace and more, are distinctly applied to join a wide, cheerful and vibrant color palette. “I feel like the world needs color and joy, and this collection celebrates the power of  that mix in its agglomeration” (Lupe).

This versatile proposal integrates feminine, masculine, and genderless silhouettes. The timeless designs create a dialogue between streetwear, and a new artisan haute couture, highly representative of Lupe’s designs.
