Sól Hansdóttir makes clothes with a certain intolerance for the expected. “How dare you do that shape,” she says of the moment a piece begins to surprise her. That appetite for disruption runs through a practice that is precise, instinctive and pushed off-centre as a rule.

A Central Saint Martins MA graduate, Hansdóttir has built a practice spanning fashion, performance and art. Her work is experimental but decisive: questioning received ideas of how garments should be cut, worn and understood, all the while giving the wearer control.
