René Scheibenbauer

René Scheibenbauer launched his eponymous label in 2018, following his graduation from Central Saint Martins. The designer focuses on a holistic approach to fashion design, with research focusing on social and collaborative aspects. 

Scheibenbauer's creative process is informed by workshops and interpersonal connections with his community group, where the participating friends, artists and performers are invited to self-explore and analyse their own emotional connection to clothing. His observations develop into modern designs, which merge innovative tailoring, workwear and evening wear, reflecting the participants' understanding of identity, ideas of gender and state of mind. 
The unisex styles allow flexibility to dressing codes - formal evening wear gains functionality and casual workwear appears suitable for day and night.  

René Scheibenbauer was awarded the L'Oréal Professionel Young Talent Award as runner up on his graduation in 2018. In 2020, he was invited by artist Anthea Hamilton to guest lecture at Open School East.
