RAQUEL DE CARVALHO is a Brazilian knitwear focused brand that explores a sensual and contemporary aesthetic grounded in craftsmanship and innovation of techniques and materials. The brand merges artisanal techniques, such as mending, crochet, domestic machine knitting, and upcycling with electronic machine knitting, Raquel’s approach to textiles embraces the overlooked and discarded, breathing new life into vintage materials such as Aran knits and deadstock yarns. By transforming traditional upcycling aesthetics, the brand introduces an intuitive and refined vision for knitwear. With Brazilian heritage circled around spirituality, the act of slow handcraft when creating the garments respects the time needed and precision for every piece, much like a ritual, which then is reflected in the act of wearing and dressing oneself as a result of the process

With a postgraduate degree in Fashion Design Technology from the London College of Fashion and experience at Calvin Klein and Gareth Pugh, Raquel won the top award at Pitti Immagine Filati for young knitwear brands in 2021. She debuted her first "Made in Italy" collection at Pitti in 2022, supported by Italian luxury manufacturers, and showcased her work at the Circular Fashion Summit at Galeries Lafayette.
