MAZINYI

Mazinyi was founded in 2017 by designer and creative director Annette Mazinyi, born in Zambia and raised in London. Graduating with a Bachelors of Arts Honours degree in Active Sportswear from London College Of Fashion, Annette Mazinyi was selected by the British Fashion Council and WGSN as ‘One To Watch’ for her technical approach to activewear showcased in her internal graduate show

MAZINYI has since displayed collections across seasons at London Fashion Week Men, WHITE MAN/WOMAN Milan and (Capsule) Showroom Paris. MAZINYI’s fall collection was also selected by WHITE in partnership with Luisaviaroma to put forward an exclusive capsule collection to be sold online and was spotlighted by HIGHSNOBIETY as ‘13 UPCOMING BRANDS’.

Following Annette’s time at Lou Dalton and Katie Eary, London’s most prolific female, menswear designers, Annette refined her craft in textile manipulation, print design and pattern cutting which helped her to realise a tailored sports aesthetic and a love for print and texture.  MAZINYI has been featured in Vogue China, Highsnobiety, Sport And Street Collezioni magazine and worn by celebrities Nicki Minaj, Reggie Yates, Central Cee and many others.

Heavily inspired by her Christian faith and hometown Kitwe, Zambia - Annette Mazinyi creates her collections consciously, referencing the ultimate creator’s creations and taking on the responsibility of circular design, restoring ‘EDEN’ for the future generations, as a people and a planet –

In 2022 MAZINYI was selected as Top 30 Brands for The Tommy Hilfiger Fashion Frontier Challenge supporting black, indigenous and minority communities around the world and the MAZINYI mission to upskill a new generation of youth in the land of one million orphans and the seventh wonder of the world – Zambia.

MAZINYI is currently preparing for their first presentation at London Fashion Week.
