UK-based designer Frederick Edmondson launched his eponymous label LYPH in 2016, leaning on his experience working under iconic menswear labels like Paul Smith and Tommy Hilfiger. LYPH produces collections that challenge traditional understandings of clothing while paying a spirited homage to the aesthetics of ’90s grunge. Dead-stock and recycled fabrics are at the forefront of each collection. Familiar pieces like blouses and jeans are updated with bright colours, eccentric details, and singular tailoring, resulting in designs that are at once subversive and stylish. Nostalgic yet patently contemporary, LYPH inspires a free-spirited approach with the aim to create a tribe of like-minded individuals who appreciate intelligent design working to improve our environment.
