Emma Chapman Jewels

The British jewellery designer Emma Chapman, uses hand-cut gemstones, precious metals and ancient jewellery couture techniques, to create totally unique, regal heirloom treasures for the 21st century. Drawing on heritage traditions, her jewellery incorporates stone-carving, hand-engraving, enamel, jaali and embossed work. Her signature style is haute-bohemian in flavour, and she uses ornate detailing on each piece.

Emma Chapman jewels, responsibly sources materials and labour in Jaipur, India – a part of the world with a long and celebrated tradition of jewellery making. Emma has personal relationships with the craftspeople manufacturing for her as she lived and worked there for over 10 years while she set up her workshops. She always uses local goldsmiths, artisans and stone-cutters. They continue to meet regularly, as Emma spends several months of the year in Jaipur with them. She has been working with the same family-run workshops now for over 18 years.

Her inspiration is drawn from the motifs and patterns in sacred geometry in Islamic, Mughal, Arabic, Byzantine, Vedic and Buddhist architecture, and given a modern twist for Western wear. She also uses Mughal Art and floral motifs in her designs.

The brand has been featured in numerous magazines, including Vogue, Harpers, Tatler, Elle and Conde Nast Traveller. Her work is showcased at London Fashion Week and previously on several occasions at Premiere Classe, Paris Fashion Week and at NYNOW in New York.

Emma Chapman's jewellery has sold at Fenwick London, John Lewis, the Orient Express Venice Collection,  and the Victoria & Albert Museum shop as part of their Best of British Collection. The brand has also sold  at various boutique hotel shops, notably the One & Only Resorts, and the Taj Hotel Group in Asia, and fashion and jewellery boutiques in the UK such as Felt London, across the USA in numerous boutiques and via online retail outlets such as Wolf & Badger, Istdibs and La Maison Couture. She was also commissioned to do a collection for the National Portrait Gallery to tie in with their Indian Portrait exhibition. She has been focusing mainly on online retail over the last few years.

Alongside her commercial ranges of silver and gold vermeil jewellery,  Emma Chapman specializes in one-of-a-kind pieces of fine jewellery for women and men. The brand also has an eye-catching bridal jewellery collection and a selected men's collection.

"I see my brand as being pure treasure. Each piece is a finely crafted miniature artwork, using many different highly skilled jewellery couture techniques. It is heirloom jewellery with a luxe bohemian edge."

"I love Emma Chapman's work: the intricate settings, the beautiful craftsmanship, the fact that all the gems have a meaning, and each piece of jewellery has a story. Her love of India is evident in the mix of traditional techniques and her brilliant eye for design. These are all one-off pieces - real works of art, must-have pieces of jewellery.
