Charlie Constantinou is a London-based label founded in 2022 by British-Cypriot designer Charlie Constantinou, a graduate of Central Saint Martins MA Fashion. The core of the label’s work is a functional and adaptable design language centred on modular silhouettes engineered for extreme environments. By synthesising ancestral motifs and heritage craftsmanship with a futuristic technical sensibility, the brand creates garments that physically transform to accommodate different body types and climates. This approach is driven by sustainable intentionality, utilising deadstock fabrics, artisanal hand-dyeing, and a noted expandable quilt technique to produce functional wear with a weathered, organic finish.
Following his graduation in 2022, Constantinou received the ITS Arcademy Award at the International Talent Support contest in Trieste, Italy - providing a significant platform for his technical innovations. He subsequently entered a multi-season partnership with the Icelandic heritage brand 66°North between 2023 and 2024 to apply his modular techniques to professional-grade outerwear. To further expand his technical universe, he collaborated with the Italian label Demon Footwear to develop technical, handcrafted footwear that integrated his signature hand-dyeing processes and protective utility.
This progression culminated in his recognition as an LVMH Prize semi-finalist in 2023 and his official London Fashion Week debut under the BFC NEWGEN scheme for the 2024/25 season.
Since his debut on the official London Fashion Week schedule, Constantinou has refined his modular design language through a sequence of progressive collections. Season 4 (SS25) drew inspiration from Saharan landscapes, utilizing complex hand-dyeing to achieve earthy oranges and yellows, while Season 4.5 (AW25) served as a conceptual continuation that explored extreme desert temperature shifts through bold chartreuse and dense, elasticated knitwear. This evolved into Season 5 (SS26), which introduced a historical fantasy lens by blending armour-inspired detailing with refined silhouettes like linen bombers and darted jersey. Most recently, Season 6 (AW26) presented "A Contradiction of Uniform," reinterpreting 18th-century military dress into a resilient contemporary wardrobe featuring decorative pleating and a collaboration with the bottle brand Chilly’s. Throughout these iterations, he has maintained a focus on sustainable intentionality by integrating artisanal finishes and his noted expandable quilt technique into an evolving range of technical gear.
