AETER was established in Taiwan by two designers, Chuan Lu and Yi-Lunh Hsu, with the aim to create chic and sleek designs with exquisite craftsmanship.
Our brand name is derived from the Latin word “aeternus”, which stands for eternal. We believe the idea of eternity lies in the balance between structure, outline, form, and space, i.e., an equilibrium, the name of our new collection.
While keeping a deep respect for traditional leather craftsmanship, we incorporate modern techniques and design processes from our industrial design background to achieve a contemporary aesthetic. Our core design principle is to express our obsession with modernism and the reconfiguration of abstract geometric forms, through the use of ethical leather. Overall, AETER’s signature style is a mix of contradictions: unpretentious yet sophisticated, modest yet striking.
All hides and material of our bags are sourced as a co-product of meat, population control of wild animals, or free-range farming, specifically animals that die from natural causes. We use non-toxic dyes; our collection is free from AZO dyes and phthalates. Our end-to-end handmade process allows us to control all the waste in our production.
