Cut from a Different Cloth – The Story Behind Somebody Else’s Guy
Meet the designer behind Somebody Else’s Guy and discover the story, inspiration and sustainable practice behind the label.
Following the landmark Somebody Else’s Guy sustainable catwalk, designer Corey Dixon will join us in the gallery for a special talk offering audiences the chance to meet the creative behind the Newcastle-based, gender-neutral fashion label.
Corey will discuss the story behind Somebody Else’s Guy, from its beginnings during lockdown to its evolution into a sustainable fashion brand. The conversation will explore her approach to upcycled couture, individuality and Northern identity, as well as the inspiration behind the designs showcased on the catwalk.
BBC Radio Newcastle presenter Kelly Scott will host the talk, finding out the personal insight into Corey’s creative practice and the ideas that sit behind her distinctive, one-of-a-kind pieces, with an opportunity for guests to hear directly from the designer and ask questions.

Upcycling Workshop - 17 September
On the 17th September, learn how to upcycle an old piece of clothing, giving life to an item you no longer use. Weather this be an old skirt you don't use or maybe a damaged piece of clothing, work with Corey to create a new look.
Taking place from 6–8 pm, the workshop costs £20 and includes a glass of wine/prosecco, with £10 redeemable against Corey’s fashion on the evening of the event.
