Octi captures fragments of nature and translates them into precious metals. Nature is always in flux, shaped by erosion, delay and human interaction. The work preserves these moments in time by turning them into jewellery - one of the most long lasting, sentimental types of objects that exist.
The process can involve creating moulds of natural forms such as rocks or vegetable skins, then sculpting these into wearable forms. Other designs emerge from melted wax, finished with delicate hand-drawn line work - Octi’s interpretations of patterns found in water, rock formations, and woodgrain.
Observing how these patterns repeat themselves within different parts of the natural world, showing how everything is connected. By repeating these once again into the jewellery, the wearer then becomes part of this collective connection.
All pieces are designed and hand made locally in London using recycled precious metals and the traditional process of lost wax casting.
