ELLIS JAZ is a knitwear designer creating intricately crafted clothing in London. After graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2019 with a MA in Fashion Knitwear, Ellis founded her label in 2020.

Operating in the intersection of craft, design and erotica. Ellis Jaz makes clothing that deconstructs the composition of the body. Clothes that feel erotically empowered and structured whilst still maintaining a very prominent consideration of the person wearing them and how it feels to exist within them. The pieces take on the shape of your body rather than restricting it.

Influenced by an undying love of, and fascination with, femme erotica. Inspired continuously by women who find their own unique ways of expressing their sexuality entirely on their own terms. This work seeks to renegotiate the erotic feminine image. As a queer woman the designs emerge from an adoration for the female body; a conversation between women. Dismantling a heterosexual norm to challenge and embrace the power of the feminine erotic. Often physically present in her own work, Ellis’s designs are sensitive explorations, not of the female as a distant object, but as a similar being. Inspired by women who are seductive by way of self-esteem, self-awareness and strength being a source of attraction.

Working entirely on manual flat-bed knitting machines, each piece is fully fashioned and hand-made to the highest quality. Incorporating high stretch knitted fabrics with intricate embroidery-like detailing.
