Ready-to-wear label Talia Byre searches for qualities that transgress time, featuring distinctive womenswear staples and seasonal meditations on colour. The label’s collaged knitwear—including cropped cardigans, pencil skirts, and body-hugging bottoms—is hand-built from a draped approach working with a studied colour palette each season, such as eye-catching pinks, lilacs, and acid greens to work together to tell a narrative that reflects the lives of our customers.
Rituals and heritage have been central to the design language of the London-based designer ever since her graduation from Central Saint Martins in 2020. The brand takes its name from her great uncle’s boutique, Lucinda Byre, based in Liverpool's thriving centre from the 60's-80’s. Produced in a local environment and continually developing their research and use of natural fibre materials, Talia Byre’s collections show a myriad of knit and woven techniques, working with an intensity that provokes energetic flourishes through exposed seam detailing.
During Frieze week in the capital, the brand presented their debut show in October 2022 by holding an intimate gathering at London’s lunchtime institution Sweetings. Surrounded by new and old friends, the collection was introduced in a manner true to the brands ethos of family; community and celebration.
Designed for the women we know and love, Talia Byre's collections were born out of the displeasure for the current offering. Working with the notion of creating pieces that each season can be collected upon the last, they continue to set themselves the task of delivering the ultimate woman’s wardrobe.
