ANCIELA is a London-based sustainable luxury womenswear label that celebrates South American folklore and experimental tailoring through the lens of migration and childhood memories. Founded by London-based Colombian-Chilean Fashion Designer and Tailor Jennifer Droguett Espinosa in 2019.
ANCIELA designs with circularity from the beginning of the process, using and applying recycling, upcycling and regenerative techniques delivering beautifully hand-crafted designs that are friendly to our planet.
The brand offers re-worked tailoring and eccentric Ready-To-Wear interwoven with a hint of the magical,
blending Latin folklore with an outsider's perspective from living in London, drawing inspiration from art, literature, and historical costumes. The brand celebrates sustainability and circularity, producing everything locally in London, using recycled fabrics, upcycling pre-loved materials, and promoting regenerative practices that foster collaborative and ethical relationships supporting local artisans and makers.
The brand actively supports diverse Latinx creatives by using fashion as a platform to showcase Latin/British culture and working closely with charities and non-profits from the Latinx diaspora.
The brand has been featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, L'officiel, Metal and Forbes among other independent publications. Recently participated as a panellist in Billie Eilish’s Overheated event.
After graduating with a BA in Fashion Design and Technology from AMFI in 2015, Colombian-born designer Jennifer Droguett cut her teeth on big brands like Viktor & Rolf and House of Holland. Now she has founded her own label Anciela as a homage to her Colombian heritage. She also has worked as a Fashion Designer and Pattern Cutter for emerging designers such as Richard Malone, Sadie Williams and Artschool.
