Alosh London is a contemporary Evening/occasion fashion brand, constructed around the concept of spreading positivity through clothing.
Based in London, the brand uses psychology of colour and name to evoke positive feeling in the wearer.
The brand champions the rich culture of African heritage mixed with western aesthetics to create statement pieces to cater to the strong women in us all.
The brand designs embody the interplay of strength and vulnerability by using structured hand-woven fabrics mixed with light flowy fabrics to create timeless, bold and effortless pieces that inspires strength and confidence.
At Alosh London, we believe in the power of fashion to empower individuals and reinforce self-belief. The designer playful and lively attitude, which friends and family frequently pointed out, served as the inspiration for the brand's main concept of inspiring positivism. This was expanded upon by sewing hidden messages into the garments, which are each given a positive name for the wearer to embody.
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
British born, London based womenswear designer Shola Ajayi draws on her West African heritage using a hybrid of British and Nigerian culture in her designs whilst incorporating thoughtful practices.
With a background in Accountancy, Shola decided to pursue her love of fashion later in life. She graduated from Ravensbourne University in the year 2012 with a First-class BA Degree in Womenswear. Her graduate collection was shortlisted for the ethical award at the graduate fashion week where she emerged as the runner-up. This led to a collaboration with Livia Firth on her red-carpet dress worn to the Toronto film festival.
Shola created the brand to reflect her larger-than-life personality.
Alosh is Shola spelt backwards.
