TOGA is inspired by the etymology of the word — it originally meant "blessed robe", and with that in mind Furuta designs clothes with hidden complexity and nuanced layers. TOGA is distinguished by its exclusive and extensive fabric research and unusual mix of style genres to create clothes that tell a curious narrative.

"I create for a complex women who can only live in chaos." — Yasuko Furuta, Designer and Founder of TOGA After graduating from ESMOD Paris, Yasuko Furuta founded TOGA in 1997 in Tokyo, and it has grown to be one of Japan's most preeminent brands to emerge in the last nineteen years, winning the prestigious ANDAM award in 2007.

Over the years, TOGA has presented and shown collections in Tokyo and Paris and making its London Fashion Week debut with their A/W 14 collection "Crudity, Durability, Roughness". TOGA has expanded to include TOGA PULLA, a pre-collection, TOGA VIRILIS, a menswear line, TOGA PULLA SHOE, a shoe line.

TOGA has three stores in Japan with international key stockists including Matches, Goodhood, Ikram, Lane Crawford, Joyce, Isetan and United Arrows.
