16ARLINGTON is a London based luxury womenswear label founded by design duo Marco Capaldo and Kikka Cavenati in September 2017.
Thought up in their flat on Arlington Street, situated directly above a not particularly salubrious establishment that only came to life at night, the British Italian couple, who met during their studies at the prestigious Istituto Marangoni, created the label to embody each of their individual styles. The collections are the perfect balance of two extremes, high octane glamour meets London cool. Capaldo and Cavenati's designs are the definition of theWOW factor; the 16Arlington woman will be the life and soul of the party, with each piece designed to have a story to tell the morning after. Accentuated thigh splits, long dresses with feather hems or fully sequined separates, the collection easily ignites the party girl in everyone. The pair's Italian heritage offers an added substance to the London grunge aesthetic within the collections.
Moving to a new London studio, where the doorbell didn't ring at all hours, the pair officially launched their first collection for AW18. The brand's fast, upwards trajectory has led them to gain impressive support from international stockists, with the collections now available widely across Asia, America and Europe. 16Arlington were quickly approached by Net-A-Porter and Lane Crawford to create exclusive capsule collections resulting in the ultimate edit of their signature styles, to be dressed up or down throughout the holiday season. Their impressive stockist list now includes Bergdorf Goodman, Selfridges, Beyman and Penelope to name a few.
February 2019 saw 16Arlington show on schedule at London Fashion Week for the first time. The highly successful presentation took the format of a runway show, with an invigorating soundtrack inside and a bustling queue outside. Reviews were published on WWD, Vogue International and many other prestigious titles around the world. This resulted in the brand becoming a firm favourite amongst the fashion crowd and a regular feature in highly regarded fashion publications.
Now in the brand's fourth season, the collections have already attracted the attention of icons from film, fashion and music and have been worn by the likes of Jorja Smith, Lena Dunham, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Solange, Claire Foy and Lady Gaga.
