Inspired by « les années folles » of Kiki de Montparnasse and Jacques Demy’s films, Shourouk established her eponym company in 2007. Since then her work has shifted from romantic designs to an entire dressing of contemporary accessories.
Her work focused on embroidery combines contrasting materials like Swarovski crystals, metal sequins, silk and industrial materials to create hybrid pieces of vanity.
Her pieces of couture are sold in some of the world’s leading retail boutiques in Paris, New York, London, Milan, Hong Kong or Dubai.
A true Parisian of Tunisian descent, Shourouk graduated at Studio Berçot before honing her techniques within prestigious fashion houses like Chloé, Galiano in Paris or Roberto Cavalli in Florence.
Infused with inspirations taken from Le Centre Pompidou and the oriental environment she grew up in, her outlandish vision is to have finery with excess of crystals on casual basics. She maliciously plays with her progressive bestiary and shakes up the code of haute couture with her world in Technicolor.
As a recognition of her funky fashion philosophy, in 2008 she accessorized Holywood heroines of Jean Paul Gaultier’s haute couture fashion show of Fall 2009.
This season is marked by Swarovski designers’ choice as it is Shourouk who has been chosen to interpret their five trends.
Celebrities are also taking note of the brand: her pieces have been featured in Sex and the City 2 and Beth Ditto, lead singer of the Gossip, hit the first row of Stella Mc Cartney’s show with the stunning Duchess W necklace, as well as Etam’s catwalk event in several other pieces.
More recently, her clutch appeared on Blake Lively’s hand in Gossip Girl.
With Shourouk, it’s all about vanity.
