DESIGNER NAME: Rodebjer

BACKGROUND: Rodebjer is from Gotland, an island in the Baltic Sea. She is now based in New York but the company’s head office is in Stockholm. Rodebjer studied the trade at F.I.T. (Fashion Institute of Technology) in New York and has previously worked for a Swedish design label called Soot.”

THE COLLECTION: “The collection is about childhood mysteries in wondrous nature. We have gotten ensnared in untamed, organic structures, found beauty in the handmade and imperfect, and been enchanted by fairytale worlds. The collection pays homage to handmade, small-scale, human work.”

PLANS FOR 2013: “We are showing an AW13 presentation during New York Fashion Week with Nina Persson from the Cardigans performing, and then we are opening a shop-in-shop at NK, Stockholm’s biggest department store.”
