Born in London, Georgia Hardinge’s transient early life and international background gave her much opportunity to travel and develop her fascination with design. Training at Parsons School of Art and design in Paris, Georgia won acclaim by receiving the best designer award for her graduate collection. It was here that she first developed her sculptural aesthetic.
After gaining experience in the industry Georgia launched her label in 2010 and begun to build her identity as a sculptural designer. Her inspiration for design comes from a passion for architectural shapes and sculpture, which can be seen throughout her work. She works closely with a pleat specialist to develop pleating techniques from paper sculptures and new technological fabrics and textile treatments. The Georgia Hardinge brand incorporates a strong sculptural style but also has a unique quality through fabric manipulation and strong print design that is flattering and wearable.
Georgia’s Autumn Winter 2011 ‘Merit Award’ win granted her first stand-alone runway show at Fashion Scout, since then she has continued to shine with celebrated collaborations including bespoke outfits for the Victoria Secret fashion show with sponsorship from Swarovski and designing a limited edition Lancôme bottle, exclusively sold in Selfridges. The label has seen its second successful collaboration with the high street, Georgia Hardinge for River Island, a 14 piece collection that sold in 20 stores and online nationwide. Her film for River Island won best cinematography and Georgia was give the award for best fashion film at Berlin Fashion Film Festival. Sponsorship from the Center for Fashion Enterprise as a participant in their highly sought after Pioneer Program has been another great achievement for Hardinge. Most recently Georgia was awarded "BFC Contemporary" sponsorship by The British Fashion Council in collaboration with Ebay.
Receiving international press as Grazia and Elle's ‘One to Watch’, Instyle’s ‘Name to Know’ and main fashion features in Sunday Time Style, ID, British Vogue, Stylist, Harper’s Bazaar, L'officiel and Nylon to name a few publications.
